Alex Ketchum plays an exciting mix of timeless jazz standards and original compositions that will take you on a journey through moody ballads, uptempo swing, and everything in between. Favouring the trio format, Alex believes that the simple instrumentation of guitar, bass, and drums allows for lively musical interaction which results in unique and dynamic performances. Influenced as much by the work of bebop musicians such as Sonny Stitt and Pasquale Grasso as he is by more forwardlooking figures such as Bill Evans and Keith Jarrett, Alex aims to present unique interpretations of straight-ahead jazz repertoire to modern audiences in a manner that showcases his fluent and exciting approach to jazz guitar improvisation.
