JAZZFEST JAMS

Each night of the festival ends showcasing a local artist who then hosts a jam session. Regional and visiting festival performers often join in on the fun. Many memorable festival moments have taken place at these jam session. The event has moved down the hall from Bellamy’s lounge to the festival’s new cabaret-style room, the JazzClub at Chateau Lacombe, and is sure to be a festival favourite event. Bring your instruments and upon arrival sign-up to play – first come, first served. Music lovers welcomed too! Admission by donation. 14+

Tiegen Costa Trio  hosts Wednesday June 28 | 10:30PM – 12:00AM Tiegen Costa is an Edmonton-based guitarist who approaches improvisation with one foot strongly cemented into the jazz tradition.

 

Whiling hosts Thursday June 29 |11:30PM – 1:00AM Ethan Tonack’s Whiling channels the 1960’s sounds of guitarists Kenny Burrell and Grant Green while also drawing inspiration from contemporary masters such as Jeff Parker.

 

Alex Moxon Quartet hosts Friday June 30 | 11:30PM – 1:00AM Alex Moxon Quartet performs original modern jazz. Gearing up to record their second record, the new material will be featured during JazzFest. Artist Website
