Stroll through the vendor market and discover unique handcrafted items, local art, and other treasures. Bring the kids to the family zone, where they can participate in fun activities such as games, musical activities and more! When you’re ready to refuel, head to the food trucks and indulge in everything from classic comfort food to international cuisine.

Just as the sun begins to set and the stars come out, curl up under blankets and relax as the final acts take to the stage, filling the air with their soulful melodies. With a lively and diverse lineup of local and international performers, there’s something for everyone at Jazz in the Park!

12:00 PM  | Mainstage |  MARY ANCHETA QUARTET

Keyboardist Mary Ancheta is a Canadian / Filipina artist who steps into the spotlight with her genre-bending, organic, modern take on jazz and electro-funk. Inspired by the likes of Squarepusher, The Meters, John Scofield, and Prince, Ancheta knows what’s up when it comes to arresting melodies and irresistible groove.

 

1:00 PM | Local Artist Showcase | WAY BACK WHENS

A brand-new old-fashioned trad jazz band. Inspired by the work of Louis Armstrong, Bennie Goodman and Django Reinhardt, playing classic tunes from the early days of jazz in New Orleans, Chicago, and New York City.

 

1:30 PM   | Mainstage | CAITY GYORGY

Caity Gyorgy (pronounced George) is a JUNO-award winning Canadian vocalist known for singing bebop and swing music. She has performed at popular clubs and jazz festivals across Canada and the USA and has worked and recorded with incredible musicians and groups including Christine Jensen, Pat LaBarbera, Jocelyn Gould, Ira Coleman, Allison Au, Bryn Roberts, and Postmodern Jukebox.

3:00 PM   | Mainstage | LOW DOWN BRASS BANDS

LowDown Brass Band is a uniquely strong representation of Chicago Music culture. This talented all horn band leans heavily on dancehall and street beat rhythm, with the energy of conscious hip hop, jazz, reggae, and soul.

4:30 PM  | Mainstage | THE RUBIM DE TOLEDO GLOBAL JAZZ PROJECT

Canadian-Brazilian bassist Rubim de Toledo presents a new project inspired by Latin, funk, Afro-beat and ethno-jazz influences. Featuring guest vocalist, the Edmonton-based soul/jazz songstress Karimah, the band ignites the stage with irresistible grooves, melodies, and improvisations sure to please the body, soul, and mind.

Edmonton’s premier brass party band delivering only the tightest jams and hot throwbacks from the 70s, 80s, 90s, 00s, guaranteed to make you dance and sing.

 

6:00 PM | Mainstage | MAZACOTE

JUNO-nominated Mazacote is a hard-hitting World/Latin band with deep roots in the music of Colombia, Mozambique, and Venezuela. Inspired by Afro-Caribbean percussion and tropical party sounds, they play brass-heavy Latin dance beats with a message.

Edmonton’s premier brass party band delivering only the tightest jams and hot throwbacks from the 70s, 80s, 90s, 00s, guaranteed to make you dance and sing.

 

7:45 PM | Mainstage | ENDEA OWENS AND THE COOKOUT

Known as one of Jazz’s most vibrant emerging artists, Endea Owens is a Detroit-raised Recording Artist, Bassist, and Composer. In 2018, Endea graduated from The Juilliard School, and joined the Late Show with Stephen Colbert as a member of the house band, Stay Human. Since then, Endea has won an Emmy, Grammy Award, and a George Foster Peabody Award. Endea’s work has appeared on Jon Batiste’s Grammy Award-winning album “We Are”, Oscar-nominated film Judas and the Black Messiah, and H.E.R’s widely acclaimed Super Bowl LV performance.
