A mainstay in the Edmonton, Alberta and Canadian Jazz Scene, the EdJE is BACK for a reunion concert.

It is hard to believe that it has been 30 years since those collectively-creative, inspiring concerts and tours that established the EdJE as one of Canada’s premier Jazz Ensembles. This reunion is a long-time in the making and we are thrilled to be back together and performing music from our “youth”. Music that is still as challenging, beautiful and relevant today as it was those many years ago.

The EdJE began as an Edmonton Jazz City Festival sponsored band in the mid 1980s and was comprised of some of the most outstanding and inventive young Edmonton jazz musicians. Led by trumpeter/composer/arranger Sean McAnally, the EdJE performed at all the Canadian Jazz Festivals and clubs, toured Europe, won the Alcan Jazz Prize and were nominated for a Juno!! Since then the members have relocated to New York, Montreal, Vancouver and Frankfurt and have maintained careers in Music education, performance, recording, touring and producing.

The EdJE 1989:

Sean McAnally – Trumpet, composer/arranger

Jim Pinchin – Saxophones, composer/arranger

Al Jacobson – Trombone

Wayne Feschuk – Piano, composer/arranger

Marek Semeniuk – Bass, composer/arranger

Tom Foster – Drums
