Jeff Antoniuk

BIOGRAPHY
Born in Edmonton, Jeff Antoniuk swept into the United States like an Alberta Clipper. He earned a Master’s Degree from the University of North Texas in jazz performance and West African ethnomusicology, recording and touring before graduation. He composed, recorded and toured with Unified Jazz Ensemble for a decade before assembling the critically acclaimed players of the Jazz Update. Their 2007 CD Here Today received extensive airplay in North America. Meanwhile Antoniuk’s much-televised work with R&B band Sound Connection has taken him from The White House to Las Vegas. He teaches with Towson University and Washington Performing Arts Society. The artistic director of Maryland Summer Jazz, he has been called “Maryland’s Pied Piper of Jazz.
