BIOGRAPHY
Juno Award-winner P.J. Perry calls Don Berner "one of Canada's fastest-rising saxophone stars”; Berner has appeared alongside notable jazz luminaries and in jazz clubs throughout North America. A former MacEwan College Outreach instructor, he maintains a busy performing, workshop-leading, and teaching schedule. He’s made regular appearances with the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra; played embassies worldwide; performed on Hockey Night in Canada and other radio and TV specials. He appears on Dianne Donovan’s album “Yes or No”; Hot Cottage's “Better Late Than Never”; his debut CD, “Sextet”, and latest release, “Fortress of Solitude”. Berner assumed stewardship of CKUA’s A Time for Jazz in 2007.
