DMB Quintet

BIOGRAPHY
The Davidson Murley Braid Quintet (DMBQ) is a collaboration by Juno winners Mike Murley on saxophones; pianist David Braid; and emerging saxophonist Tara Davidson, along with bassist Jim Vivian and drummer Ian Froman. The DMBQ represents world-class improvisation with lyrical grace, contemporary harmony and rhythmic vitality. While Davidson, Murley, and Braid draw on varied influences in their compositional styles, their shared affection for lyricism brings cohesion to the band's diverse repertoire. The DMBQ recorded an unedited live CD in Vancouver while on its 2006 Canadian tour, an example of contemporary mainstream jazz at its finest. The group released its latest album in January.
